Minutes of the Meeting of Tuesday - December 2, 2003

 

1. Call to order

President Ed Henry (County of Marin), called the meeting to order at
11:55 A.M. at Cattleman's, Petaluma.


2. Self Introductions

President Henry welcomed Thirty-four attendees and called for self-introductions.


3. Approval of Minutes

Minutes were posted at the website (www.reaco.org) and e-mailed. M/s/Passed to accept the minutes as posted.
 

4. Officers and Committee Reports

a. Treasurer

Daryl Phillips (The Phillips Group) reported that the balance of the checking account is $11,092.65 and the balance of the CD is $11,445.46, the total of the two accounts is $22,538.11.


b. Secretary

No report.


c. Vice President


No report.


d. President


Ed Henry reported that he would meet with the secretary to follow through on filing papers with the State to change the name to REACO.


e. Executive Committee

No report.


f. Education Committee

Daryl Phillips reported that the County Building Officials will meet in May in Santa Rosa and have an education day on Monday of the meeting.


g. Code Development Committee

No report.


h. ICC Liaison

Fred Herman (City of Palo Alto) introduced Patti Habel from ICC. She is working in Sacramento with a coalition to have the ICC codes adopted. Fred gave an update on the transition of the new Governor. Next, Fred gave an overview of the Nashville ABM and reported that the Code change hearings will be held in Overland Park, Kansas May 17-24, 2004. j. Location Committee

Daryl Phillips reported that he would email the location to everyone.

k. Donations Committee

No Requests at this time.


5. Correspondence and Announcements

IIt was announced that the Home Improvement Contractors Licenses will expire 12/31/03, and all bonds will go from $7,500 to $10,000. on 01/01/04


6. Legislative News

None.


7. Code Issues


Bill Talley asked about a B-2 split-level with restrooms on the upper level a discussion pursued regarding exiting vs. accessibility.


8. Old Business

Guy Bachelis made a motion to send a letter to the Governor. Patti Habel will provide a template. Motion Passed


9. Program

Fred Herman installed the following officers for 2004:

Doug Williams, Secretary
