Minutes of the Meeting of Tuesday -
October 7, 2003
1. Call to order
President Ed
Henry (County of Marin), called the meeting to order at
12:25 P.M. at Ring's Restaurant, Embassy Suites, San Rafael
2. Self Introductions
President Henry welcomed
fourteen attendees and called for self-introductions.
3. Approval of Minutes
Minutes were posted at
the website for corrections (www.reicbo.org) and e-mailed.
M/s/Passed to accept the minutes as corrected.
4. Officers and Committee Reports
a. Treasurer
Daryl Phillips reported that the balance of the checking account is $10,510.13
and the balance of the CD is $11,400.25, the total of the two accounts is
$21,910.38.
b. Secretary
Tom Carlton reported that the name change vote would be discussed under old
business.
c. Vice President
Bill Schulze reported he will act as Secretary until a new secretary is elected.
d. President
Ed Henry (Marin County) reported that Tom Carlton will be taking a leave of
absence due to medical problems. M/s/Passed to have President Henry to contact
Tom and find out he needs during his leave.
Ed next reported that REACO is an ICC chapter. Ed will contact ICC to have a
representative at the installation of officers meeting in December. A name
change with the State of California is in process.
At the November meeting we will have a program on Green Building.

g. Code Development Committee

h. ICC Liaison
No report.
i. CALBO Liaison
Ed Henry attended the regional meeting in San Leandro and the main topic was
code adoption. CALBO is not going to challenge the Code adoption process this
will be up to ICC. CALBO will meet with future governmental political
candidates.

Donations Committee
Guy Bachelis requested
that our group donate $500 to Habitat for Humanity Sonoma County. His request
will be brought before the donations committee for a recommendation at the
November meeting.
5. Correspondence and Announcements
Ed stated that we will be receiving a banner from ICC.
6. Old Business
None.
7. New Business
Guy requested that any members interested in donating time to help in
construction or construction management for affordable housing should contact
Habitat For Humanities of Sonoma County. Guy will put out an email to all
members requesting help.
Jim Moscoso (City of Larkspur) took a straw poll of how many agencies will be
closing between Christmas and New Year's.
M/s/Passed to put with our name the four counties we serve Marin, Sonoma, Lake,
and Mendocino.
8. Legislative News
None.
9.
Code Issues
Clif Castle (Coastland Engineering) asked
if anyone had a green building program. Mike Enright (Santa Rosa) stated that
the City of Santa Rosa is currently developing a policy for green building.
Ed Henry stated that County of Marin has a Sustainability Housing
Program.
